Marcy Conn has 17 years of
international experience in strategy
development; business planning; portfolio and
asset valuations; research, development,
commercialization strategies; negotiations
analysis; M&A/divestiture; risk analysis and
mitigation. Marcy also has extensive
involvement with nonprofit agencies, having held
both Board and management positions.
Her work draws upon a
demonstrated ability to identify customer needs,
develop clear project scopes, build effective
relationships with stakeholders and staff at all
levels within organizations, and deliver clear,
action-focused plans and analysis. Ms. Conn has
trained hundreds of business executives and
managers, university students, and teachers in
decision and risk analysis.
A few examples of her
project work include:
- For a major oil and gas corporation, she
participated in the development of a portfolio
strategy that significantly increased the value
of the company’s holdings.
- For various individual companies and oil
and gas consortia, Ms. Conn has led strategy and
risk analyses in the following areas:
- Developments in environmentally sensitive
areas
- Funding and valuation of upstream R&D
technologies
- Canadian mega-projects and new initiatives
mature production areas
- Exploration and development in areas with
substantial political risk, including fiscal
terms analysis
- Bidding strategies for asset acquisition.
- For a major research center, Ms.
Conn trained client teams in applying decision
analysis to evaluate R&D projects. This
analytic capability provided key personnel with
a better understanding of the financial risk and
return of long-term projects and resulted in a
redirecting of funding and efforts to the most
profitable projects.
Marcy has an MBA from the
Haas School of Business at University of
California, Berkeley, a M.S. in Operations
Research and a B.S. in Chemistry/Mathematical
and Computational Sciences from Stanford
University.
